Scare Mongering With The Debt Crisis – Obama and Clinton
Bill Clinton, famous for trying to redefine “what is” is, has gone a step better claiming the 14th Amendment to the Constitution for the united States has the ability of a president to raise the debt ceiling on his own. Obama for his part at least has somewhat dropped the idea, but even today the NY Times has it in the front pages again.
The 14th Amendment states plainly “The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payments of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned.” This is easy enough since the parts are divided nicely. The public debt when authorized by law (only the house can initiate debt spending and both houses must approve) cannot be questioned. The first thing any reader should question is why a government rulers of the people would add an amendment that would not allow the peoples to question actions of its government, but that is a whole other story. The point is Clinton has once again expanded the meaning of “is” at the same time the president is trying to say his will alone make it “authorized by law.” That would make Obama a king rather than a leader of one of the three parts to our government.
We are appalled that Obama and his cronies are crying about their spilt milk. There will be no chaos or crisis on August 2nd, there will be choices. The choice is how to spend the money you have responsibly. Something each and every one of us has to do each day. The problem is government has never been responsible to anyone but large corporate donations.
What will the new crisis bring? Will it bring a default? Seriously folks, that is not going to happen. The treasury will cut that check come hell or high water. The problem will be how to tighten the belt and not one of these ill minded representatives of the people are willing to cut their paychecks for anyone or anything..
The real question is will the US government stop creating money to give bankers at no interest to continue their wild speculation on bonds and commodities which have driven up prices on everything from meat to gold and destroyed nations abroad?
In the end one of the most obvious notions is this corrupt government is trying to take an untouchable insurance entity that all Americans have paid for and call it an entitlement. Social Security is not an entitlement, it is the insurance that all working citizens paid into so that they would have something to keep them above poverty in old age. It was paid for and it once had value. Today, the truth is, there is nothing really left. Not from payouts that were due to citizens but to the fact that the government, while promising never to touch the peoples money, decided to borrow on the capital losing so much that it is gone.
What we really need is the restoration of The Republic and the elimination of professional politicians and their controlling corporate interests. We don’t need a king! We don’t need leaders that create scare tactics to get their way. We dont need leaders who continue to give away the nations wealth to bankers while allowing their losses to become public debt.
